The Events

As stated in the 2006 Cultural Resources Survey, “By the turn of the twentieth century, the Washington State Fair had gained a reputation as a fine state fair. Each successive year was billed as bigger than the previous year in terms of attendance, number of exhibitors and participants, and attractions offered. Its setting in the fertile Yakima Valley was seen as unparalleled.”

Today, the Central Washington Fair Association administers production of 110 non-fair events, generating 238 event days and drawing nearly 375,000 participants annually. In addition to non-fair events, the Association produces the annual Central Washington State Fair, a 10-day event held in September of each year which draws about 300,000 participants. The following is a summation of events and activities produced or held at State Fair Park throughout the twelve month calendar year. For a complete listing please refer to Appendix “A” .
