Opportunity:

Join the Central Washington Fair Association Team in Yakima and be part of creating memories for one of Washington’s top Fairs and Event Centers. This position will report to the Controller/HR Manager.

Compensation:

We offer a competitive hourly rate commensurate to education and/or experience; $23 - $29 per hour. This position offers growth potential and training is provided. Company benefits offered: Annual Bonus Program, Group Medical, Dental, (Life/AD&D, LTD <C), Voluntary Vision and Aflac, 401k plan.

About:

State Fair Park is home of the Central Washington State Fair, Yakima SunDome and Yakima County Baseball Stadium. This 125-area campus is the largest multi-purpose venue in Central Washington, hosting over 200 events annually. The annual Fair has been in existence for over 128 years celebrating the heritage and agriculture of the Yakima Valley.

Summary:

Responsible for supporting all functions in the accounting and HR departments, with emphasis on Payroll, Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables, and year-round event involvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process Payroll weekly and by-monthly including new hire paperwork, timecard review and inputting, creating checks/automatic deposit, positive pay, federal deposits, upload 401k, and other payroll processes as needed. Assist with the hiring process of full-time, part-time, seasonal, and temporary workers. Prepare and submit quarterly reports and year-end W-2’s.
  • Process Accounts Payables to include setting up new venders, posting invoices, issuing checks, positive pay, maintaining an organized filing system, and other processes as needed. Keep accurate and current Vender W-9 forms and prepare year-end 1099’s.
  • Process Accounts Receivables includes setting up new customers, posting settlements, creating invoices, receiving payments, and maintaining an organized filing system.
  • Assist with completing the monthly bank reconciliations, B&O tax reports, financial statements, and other analysis as needed. Assist with the preparation of the year-end budget.
  • Assist with year-round events and the annual Central Washington State Fair as needed, which could include day to day projects/support, and preparation of the post event settlement reports and analysis.

Competency:

Excellent organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, project management skills, and able to meet deadlines. Must have good understanding of debits and credits and extensive computer experience with excel spreadsheet knowledge.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s or associate degree in accounting or finance and/or a minimum of three years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands:

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and/or stand and/or walk for long periods of time. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and to talk and hear. During peak activity times, extra daily hours, and schedule flexibility may be required.
