NEW GRANDSTAND ENTERTAINMENT
Saturday, September 24 and Sunday, September 25th
406 FMX Extreme Motocross sponsored by Pizza Hut. Shows at 2 pm and 6 pm both days. Free Attraction with Fair Admission. 406 FMX extreme freestyle motocross show featuring nitro circus riders, snowmobile backflip, - yes, a snowmobile in the summertime. Experience X-games winning trick - a front flip on a dirt bike. Some of the top action sports athletes in the world performing the biggest tricks in the country.

Saturday, October 1st - 5:00 pm
PBR Challenger Series sponsored by Washington Beef. Paid Attraction and Ticket includes Fair Admission. Bull riding fans will be able to enjoy the thrill and action of man vs. beast at the PBR Challenger Series. Dozens of professional cowboys will take on the challenge to ride some of the toughest bulls in the region.

TOYOTA MAIN STAGE CONCERT SERIES
NEW GENERAL ADMISSION CONCERT LAWN SEATING ADDED
A new general admission seating area has been added to the concert series footprint. This area will offer first-come first-served bleacher seating as well as a large festival area (standing only). Admission to this new general seating concert area will require the purchase of a concert ticket which includes Fair admission. If you are a Fair Season Pass holder, you can purchase up to four (4) general admission lawn concert tickets, that include Fair Admission, for $15.00 each regardless of the concert.

TWO SPECIALLY PRICED CONCERTS TO COMMEMORATE THE 130TH ANNIVERSARY
OF THE FAIR
To help the community celebrate the 130th anniversary of the Central Washington State Fair, WAR, Saturday, October 24th and Sawyer Brown, with special guests The Olson Bros Band, Saturday, October 1st will take stage offering good ole day pricing. Concert tickets for each of these shows are $18.92 (yep - it all started in 1892) and a concert ticket includes Fair admission.

LOCAL RAP ARTIST, COASTER, WILL OPEN FOR FLO RIDA CONCERT SEPTEMBER 23RD
A local Rap artist, Coaster, winner of the Best Overall Performance at the 2022 AppleJam event held at State Fair Park during the 4th of July celebration, will open for the Flo Rida concert on Friday, September 23rd. It’s exciting when local up and coming artists can take stage at the annual Fair to play alongside national touring acts.

FIESTA DE FAMILIA - Sponsored by HAPO COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION
Each Friday, Saturday, and Sunday during the Fair. 12 Noon – 8:00 pm Free Attraction

This new festival area celebrates the Valley’s Latino heritage and will offer family friendly activities for fairgoers. Kids can be creative with an array of hands-on activities in the craft tent. Some of the craft activities include designing your own personal lucha libre mask, flower making, coloring contests and other fun make and take crafts.

Watch muralist Ashley Cardenas, local Latino artist, paint a large mural that brings to life the story of the Latino’s connection to the Valley’s agricultural history. At the end of the Fair her artwork will be added to the mural collection in the Ag Building.

A Latino fiesta would not be complete without Pinatas. Kids can sign up to be part of a pinata breaking activity happening several times each day. They will also learn about the history and meaning of the pinata and the importance of this activity to the Latino culture.

There will also be an entertainment stage inside the Fiesta De Familia featuring family friendly entertainment and other activities for the family to enjoy.

AG BUILDING – Sponsored by Wilbur Ellis

2022 Fair Feature Ag Display – BACKYARD BOUNTY
This new feature Ag display is sure to inspire the “farmer in all of us.” This display will provide
inspiration on how you can use your backyard or any space - large or small - to be part of the food movement. Learn how to grow your own food, compost food and yard waste, even how to start backyard chickens. It will also showcase native plants, and the best plants to use to attract pollinators.

You will get ideas on how to re-purpose items that might otherwise be in a landfill to create yard art and use them in your landscaping and to grow food. Get creative and start a lettuce garden inside a re-purposed wheel barrel, plant all the ingredients needed to make salsa in your flower beds and unique containers.

AG ED SHED
This new education and demonstration stage will showcase a variety of informative presentations and demonstrations that focus on an array of topics around agriculture. Some of the organizations presenting include Master Gardeners, WA Extension Office, wine, and beer making demonstrations and Beekeepers. A daily schedule of times and presentations will be available each day of the Fair.

CENTRAL WASHINGTON STATE FAIR WINE GARDEN
Each Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the Fair 3 pm – 8 pm
Visit the newly updated Central Washington State Fair Wine Garden in the Ag Building - it’s got a new look and a great place to chill during the Fair and enjoy a glass of wine from Yakima Valley. Wineries from the Valley will be on hand to provide education around their wine making process and uncork some of the Valley’s best wines. Proceeds from the Wine Garden will benefit the Central Washington State Fair Foundation.

MODERN LIVING BUILDING

FARM TO FORK CULINARY DEMONSTRATION STAGE
Several new programs have been added to the Farm to Fork Culinary and Demonstration Stage, Sponsored by Simplot. Make sure to sign up today to earn your Blue-Ribbon Bragging Rights.

  • Salsa Making Contest – 2 Categories - Mild and Hot, Saturday, September 24th – 3 pm
  • Winners in each category will be announced and presented ribbons and cash prizes on the Farm to Fork Culinary Demonstration Stage. All winning recipes will be available following the contest on the Fair’s website.
  • Home Cook Demos – This new culinary showcase is the perfect place for home cooks who love to cook to share their favorite recipes and culinary skills with fairgoers. Demonstration times for home cooks available throughout the Fair.
  • Fiesta Foods at Five – each day (except Saturdays) Fiesta Foods culinary staff will whip up some of their popular Mexican food specialties using ingredients sourced from their grocery store
MODERN LIVING BUILDING CONTEST DISPLAY AREA

NEW CRAFT CONTEST CATEGORIES – macrame, soap making, candle making, resin and epoxy projects, up-cycle clothing – decorate slightly used clothing and hobby collections.

NEW FOOD CONTEST CATEGORIES - cupcakes, decorated cookies, decorated cupcakes, and cake pops.

NEW THREADS CONTEST - Quilt on a Stick Contest – Not able to make an entire quilt for this year’s Fair, then this is the perfect contest for you. Make one 8 x 9 quilt square around the theme “State Fair Memories” and mount in on a paint stick – “Quilt on a Stick.” These entries will be on display during the Fair.

POSTCARDS FOR OUR TROOPS - Sponsored by Gesa Credit Union
Open Daily and Free Attraction
This new activation will allow fairgoers of all ages to create their own custom postcard thanking our troops for their service. At the conclusion of the Fair, these postcards will be distributed to our active military and veteran organizations.

ANGEL WING SELFIE STATIONS
Pairs of angel wings, each decorated with a whimsical theme, will be scattered around the grounds. Each pair of angel wings features a different Fair theme and are the perfect backdrop for a selfie or group photo. See if you can find them all.

AXE THROWING DEN
Open Daily and Paid Attraction
A six-lane axe throwing den will challenge your axe throwing skills and create a great stop for spectators to watch all the ax throwing action.

LOADS OF FREE ENTERTAINMENT ALL AROUND THE GROUNDS

We have added lots of new FREE entertainment options this year all around the grounds. Stop by the Yakima Theatres Gazebo, Pacific Power Community Stage or Fiesta de la Familia sponsored by Hapo Community Credit Union to catch these acts performing on stage or roaming the grounds entertaining as you stroll by. Learn a new magic trick, sing, and dance with the Chicago Dance Honeybears, watch Zoe the Butterfly gracefully stilt walk and share her butterfly magic, and you can even be hypnotized. Cale Moon and The Olson Bros Band will keep the Yakima Theatres Gazebo Stage rocking. Lots of community groups and local entertainers will also be part of our free stages this year with something for everyone.

BARNS AND LIVESTOCK

Rabbit Costume Contest – Sunday, September 25th
Rabbit exhibitors show their creativity by dressing up their rabbits in themed costumes. Prizes given for most creative and best costume for both the rabbit and the exhibitor.

PIONEER HALL

South Central Washington STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics is back with “The STEM BUILDING” sponsored by American Rock Products and Concrete Pre-mix. Learn about 3D printers, virtual welding, virtual cadaver table, robotics, esports competition, drones, robotic arms, humanoid robot and lots more hands-on STEM related education and activities.
